Mental Health Zoom Meeting for Immigrants

José Diaz,an activist for United Action CT and a leader for Manos Unidos and Karen Dworski an LCSW psychiatric social worker have developed presentations in Spanish to discuss the topic of coping with stress and anxiety, and recognizing that the immigrant community experiences significant stresses which can cause a high level of anxiety. The meetings also allow participants to share some of their stories and experience.The meetings provide a safe space to share these stories and offer mutual support, and attendees find that this is very useful. José and Karen are planning at least 2 more meetings. At the next one on December 1st they will present slide information in Spanish on Depression with a discussion afterwards.
