Walking with Al for Immigrants in America

<p align="center"><strong>Announcing a Walk and Rally through Hartford,</strong></p> <p align="center"><strong>stopping at locations relevant to Immigration history in Hartford</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Al Dornan is a 79-year old man with severe scoliosis and spinal stenosis who has been walking for immigrants every day, 2.2 miles each day, since January 25th, 2018. On October 21<sup>st</sup>, the 270<sup>th</sup> consecutive day walking, <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">we are sponsoring “Walking with Al for Immigrants in America”, an event intended to direct attention to the contributions of immigrants to the economic and cultural well-being of our nation.</span></strong> The walk will begin at the Ribicoff Federal Building, 450 Main Street, Hartford and will proceed to six locations with local immigration history before ending with a peaceful rally at the Federal Building; the six locations will be Charter Oak Cultural Center, City Hall, Old State House, St-Patrick-St Anthony Church, State Capitol and Center Church. A guest and an immigrant will speak at each of the six locations. We are inviting local politicians and clergy to be among the speakers. <strong>This will be an introspective, family-oriented event focused on the unity of diversity</strong>. </p> <p> </p> <p>As a sign of our national solidarity with immigrants, we have invited immigrant advocacy groups and individuals across the country to organize “Mirror Walks” on the same date in their local communities. To date we have 22 individuals or groups committed in cities across the US and some outside the US. We hope to deliver a powerful but positive message both to our politicians and our local communities.
