Senator Blumenthal emergency meeting on DACA

September 11, 2017
9:30 AM to 11:00 AM

First and Summerfield Church, 425 College Street, New Haven, CT

Due to President Trump’s deeply destructive order to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Congress now has less than six months to act to protect hundreds of thousands of young Dreamers from mass deportation. We have already seen the catastrophic human impact that Trump’s heartless and immoral immigration enforcement policies have had on our neighbors and friends here in Connecticut—hardworking, law-abiding, taxpaying people being ripped from their families, in many cases deported to countries where they face immediate danger. And now Dreamers face that same threat.
I am holding an emergency field hearing on Monday, September 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First and Summerfield Church in New Haven to gather firsthand testimony regarding the devastating impact of Trump’s immigration policies here in Connecticut. I will share your stories on the floor of the U.S. Senate as I lead the fight to pass the Dream Act and ultimately comprehensive immigration reform to repair our nation’s dysfunctional and damaging broken immigration system.
