St. Francis of Assisi Church in Middletown joins UACT

July 24, 2015

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Middletown recently joined United Action of Connecticut as its newest dues paying member. UACT Executive Director, Mark Kosnoff, was pleased to make the announcement.

“I am really excited to have St. Francis join our organization”, said Kosnoff. “We have been trying for years to get a Middletown congregation to be a part of our group. Because we have congregations in Southeastern and Central Connecticut it just makes sense to have an affiliate in Middletown which just sort of ties everything together for us geographically. And St. Francis is the perfect fit. We have used their parish hall for events on numerous occasions and they have an active Hispanic community as many of our other members have”.

Father Russell Kennedy, the current pastor at St. Francis, was equally enthusiastic about the arrangement. “We have a small but very vibrant parish at St. Francis”, said Father Kennedy, “and I think we will work well with United Action”. Father Kennedy is familiar with UACT’s social justice work as he presided over St. Mary’s Church in Norwich when they were a member of UACT.
