April 08, 2017
8:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, Quinnipiac University, 370 Bassett Road, North Haven, CT

These are scary times if you care about access to quality, affordable health care. Congress and President Trump are barreling toward taking care away from 24 million people while giving huge tax cuts to the wealthy. Meanwhile, they are doing nothing about skyrocketing prescription drug prices. With the federal government unwilling to act, more and more states have decided to fight back.

Join us to learn more about why drug prices are growing at such an alarming rate and to hear what is happening in other states and right here in Connecticut to take on the drug corporations.

Featured speaker: Reshma Ramachandran, MD, MPP of John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Dr. Ramachandrun serves as Co-chair of the National Physicians Alliance FDA Task Force and Drug Pricing Action Committee. She is actively involved in the advocacy campaign to pass prescription drug legislation in Maryland.

Attendees will also hear from Connecticut-based advocates and government staffers as well as from student fellows participating in Yale University's Global Health Justice Partnership (GHJP). Yale GHJP graduate students have been conducting research on state-based prescription drug legislation, assisting both Maryland and Connecticut efforts.

Join us to get informed and take action!

The half-day meeting is jointly sponsored by National Physicians Alliance and Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecicut.

RSVP by e-mail to Carole Dicks, Executive Assistant: cdicks@universalhealthct.org

Questions? Jill Zorn jzorn@universalhealthct.org 203-639-0550, ext. 302
